Chapter 6:

Ling was already in bed by the time Jian arrived back. The clock on the dashboard read 11:13pm. Only the front foyer had its light on as he came inside. The house is deadly quiet. All the maids had gone home.

Upstairs, Jian opens his daughter's main bedroom door. The room is dark and very quiet. The only sound he could hear was the sound of Ling's deep, slow breathing. Once he stood above her, he quietly places the ruby on one of her night lamp table. Kissing her softly on her cheek before he exits her bedroom.

As Ling slept, a silver mist enters her from her already-opened-patio-doors and forms as a human being. Himself. The vampire of the night. He smiles, never expecting to see his love more beautiful and healthier looking than ever. He walks to her, leaning forward towards her face, her beautiful tiny body.

Jin softly and quietly grabs the silky blanket off her body. She had her hands underneath the pillows and her kneecaps up to her chest. Jin also notices her breathing is quite heavy. She's dreaming about me, he says to himself. I am haunting her, seducing her. Ling was wearing sexy nightgown lingerie that got Jin more aroused. He gently touches one of her legs. So smooth, so pure, he says to himself again. His hand moved around her body as she slept, unaware of this seduction.

"I have been waiting for 300 years. I will do whatever it takes to keep you with me."

Just then, Ling abruptly shifted her body, startling him a little bit. He saw her eyes moving from side to side violently. I am chasing her in her dream. She refused to have me seduce her. "You can't escape from me. I own you."

Every since Ling entered this world, she has been haunted by seductive dreams that she cannot comprehend, or why she has them. Only her best friend, Kara White, knows about it. "Have you told it to your counselor yet?" she asks. "No, I haven't. And besides, no one knows about this repeative dream except you," replies Ling one day. "I feel it doesn't involve or is relevant to my social life."
"I still think you should tell rather than to me. You know, dreams hold the truth. It's telling you something."
"Oh, yeah? Like what?"
"That I cannot answer. It's you that can discover the hidden message," says Kara. "I doubt it. Dreams are full of shit." Recoils Ling. "I disagree. Dreams are not just dreams. They hold the true feelings that you hide from people, and from yourself. Someday, your dreams will be answered."

Jin kisses gently on her neck, moving his sweet damp tongue around the flesh. He urges himself to turn her into a vampire, but held back because biting her right now is like having some guy taking away a girl's innocence without permission. He wanted to be special and very romantic to her. Now is not the time. He continues to kiss her neck, enjoying her flavor.

Just then, Ling sat up, and saw a man's face! She screamed and turns on one of the night lamps on. Ling quickly investigates the room. No one is here. She could've sworn there was a man with a dark hair with sharp bangs over his haunting eyes. The panic subsided. Ling sighed and leaned against the headboard, feeling foolish. "Another damn dream." A minute passed. The girl shuts the light off and returns to slumber.

Jin smiles. What a beautiful girl she is! I should have some fun with her, tease her a little. I won't physically harm her
Chapter 7:

The next dawn, she found the ruby jewel like the way her father wanted too. Ling became surprised. "This can't be real, can it?" she asks herself. The girl held out the jewel in her hands. "Oooo, it feels so heavy!"

Ling had a light breakfast. She got up late today. Normally, this girl wakes right on time on her daily rut. She believes her dream that night has something to do with it.

Ling couldn't hold back her excitement. Linda was happy to see her smiling again. "Your father has gone down to the police station for another interrogation," the maid explains. "He'll be back by the time you come home. It's just a shame what happened to Chris."

Ling didn't want to bring her gift to school because she's afraid someone will rob it. So, at home, she puts the ruby in her locked jewelry box for now.

"Good bye, Linda! Have a nice day!"
"You too, darling!"

At the St. Francis Xavier's School Tseun Wan® , Ling kept thinking about her dream and the gift at the same. It was overwhelming. So overwhelming that she had difficult time concentrating on her studies. "Okay, students. This session is now over. We'll continue doing our calculation analysis on Wednesday. Please remember to bring your journals as well. We'll be taking heavy-duty notes. Don't ask me to remind you more than once," says the math teacher.

"This is one of the reasons why I hate math teachers," Ling scorns. Kara greeted her by the door, carrying her books in front. "Hey, how's the class coming?"
"Don't ask," says Ling.
Kara smiled. Ling never liked math. "What are you guys studying?" Kara asks again. "Some stupid shit about calculation analysis."
"Sounds like fun to me. Anyway, wanna get something to eat? I'm starving."

At the college cafeteria, Ling and her best friend Kara sat by the windows. They talked about the accident and her new gift. "Wow. A ruby. Will you show it to me sometime?"
"Duh! Of course!"
"Oh, God, look, it's him again." Says Kara, moaning disgustedly. "Who?" Ling asked, afraid to know. "Look," Kara replies, pointing a finger towards him. Ling turns around and sees Hwoarang and his goons entering the café. "Oh, shit."
"Told ya."

"What's he doing here?" Ling asked, disgusted to see him. "Well, he's a student for one thing. I can't believe all the girls and some guys find him attractive. Yuck." Kara felt embarrassed afterwards. Deep inside, she finds him attractive as well, and is very jealous of Ling because Hwoarang has this huge crush on her.

"Hey, sweetcheeks, how's it hanging?" says Hwoarang with a smirk to this one girl. The girl he was talking too suddenly blushed. "Oh, hi, Hwoarang. Have you thought about going out with me?"
"I'm sorry, but you have to wait in line like most girls."
The girl rolled her eyes and went back reading her book.
"Hey, don't feel gloomily. You'll get your turn.when hell freezes over!" The immature men roared with laughter and proceeded farther into the café.

Ling begged Kara to hide her. "Where? Hwoarang and his goons are blocking the entrance," protests Kara, feeling jealous.
"Pleasedo something" But it was too late. Ling felt a firm hands gripping on her shoulders. "Hey, Ling, did you missed me?"

Ling rolled her eyes, jerking her shoulders violently to get his hands off of her. "Hey, like I'm sorry." Says Hwoarang. His eyes met Kara's. "Hey, girl, what's up?" Kara answers with a romantic tone: "Hi, Howarang."
"Mind if I steal your girlfriend for awhile? He asks. Before Kara could reply, Hwoarang lifted Ling up, carrying her away from Kara, startling her. "Hey, what gives?!"

Jin, who is invisible, felt a sudden rage. He didn't like seeing Hwoarang grabbing Ling off her chair, and dragging her (not abusively) towards his table. Ling gave up her struggle and allowed herself to be dragged by the handsome and redheaded conceited jerk.

Hwoarang is just as rich as she is. "You're my special girl," he says after finding out Ling is also wealthy. "Get real," Ling sneers at him. "What's the matter? Am I ugly too you?" he whines. "No, you're personality is, though!"
"Oh, okay. Good. So, I'm not an ugly guy." Smirks Hwoarang once more. Hwoarang and Ling have known each other since they were high school students. Ling tried to keep a distance between them, but fails because he is around her when she's at school, and sometimes at home. Sure, Ling finds him handsome as well, but she knows he's a conceited jerk, and she doesn't like that in men. "You're just not my type," she says one day to him. "I can change," he said back. What does her father think of him? "Marry him. You're perfect for him."
"What? Dad, c'mon. You can't be serious!"
"Oh, I am."

Kara rolled her eyes and watched the conversation. Why does Ling get everything so easily? Just because she's rich doesn't mean she can get whatever the hell she wants! Bitch.

"What are you planning to do tonight?" Hwoarang asks, putting an arm around her. "Homework," she quickly replies, rolling those beautiful eyes of hers. "Yeah? Well, skip that. Make a rain-check cause I'm going to take you on my new yacht my father bought for me."
"Good for you. I'm not interested."
"Agree or disagree, you're coming."
"Are you ordering me around?" Ling demanded. "Does it look I am?" he asks softly.

Just then, he cried out in surprise as he felt his body rises off the floor. Ling gasped in shock. Hwoarang has been thrown across the room by the air!

"What the--?"

Sudden excited commotion filled the room at once.

Chapter 8:

Twenty minutes have passed, Ling went down to the nurse' office on the first floor. The receptionist questioned her reason to be here. "I've came here to see Hwoarang. Is he all right? May I see him?"
"Have a seat, young lady."

In few minutes, Hwoarang came out of a room, holding an ice pack on his forehead. "Hwoarang! Are you all right?" the girl asked, feeling stupid because of asking a stupid question.
"Yeah, I'm cool. And you?" he asked. "I'm fine. It's just that, I am so surprised at this accident. You were thrown bysomething."
"It is weird," he says.

After Hwoarang had been attacked, he was unconscious for a moment, but awoke, dazed. "What the hell happened?" he cried.
No body could explain the incident. Some force shoved him forcefully across the room. No human with great strength is capable of doing that kind of jostle.

"The nurse says I'll be fine. So, what are you doing after school?"
"None of your business!' cried Ling. "You still don't want to hang around with me? After what happened. Don't you feel any remorse?"
"No."

Ridding Hwoarang isn't easy. Ling finally convinced him to leave her alone. "If you continue too, I shall report your harassment!"
"Hey, doll face, that won't be necessary."

"His death remains unsolved," says Jian. At the dinner table, it was only she and her father. Linda asked if they need anything before her shift is over. "No, that will be all. You have a good night," Jian answers.
"Aright. Good night."

Once the favorite maid left, Jian asked his daughter about the ruby. "It's very beautiful." She replies. Ling wanted to know where he got it, but receiving such a fine gift, she felt it would be very rude to even ask. "I love it. I'm sorry what happened to Chris."

Ling told her father what happened at her school today. "He got thrown?"
"Yeah. It was weird!"
"But, he's all right?"
"Yeah."
"That's good. Are you love birds going out?"
"Father, we're not. I don't want him as a boyfriend. He's just not my type."

Early in school, while Ling attended her usual rut classes, Jin went off to the main Human Resource Center. He glances at one of the male employees. Just by looking at people, he can commute himself to anybody he desires.

After investigating, he went to another office where they held all student files. From continuing, to transferring, and to withdrawing. Jin, disguised as one of the employees at the HRC, came in and asked for foreign student files. A woman with thick glasses opened a file, searched for foreign student files, found them, and gave it to him. "Here you go, Mr. Maki. Make sure to bring it back," she says with a chuckle. Jin smiled back, but did not chuckle.

The foreign students are transferring here to study whatever the hell they're studying. And by taking someone else's personality, Jin will be able to talk to Ling person to person. Although the school hasn't seen how the foreign students' will look like, changing his physical appearance won't be necessary.

After flipping through files, he found a perfect one. Jon Mujuro. A Japanese student taking college courses here in China, majoring in Biology. He will be living in an apartment near this school instead of a dorm. His arrival ismy God! That's tomorrow! growing with excitement, Jin abandoned the files, not caring what the lady will say or do.

No one was in the hallway. So, Jin closes his eyes and began to mediate.

His body slowly disappears

Chapter 9:

The same day, Jin found Jon Mujuro at the Hong Kong airport. Jin waited impatiently as he watches airline customers getting off. Jin never saw anything like this before. This is his first time being at the airport, seeing airplanes arriving, and departing, as he waits.

Jon was smiling, chit-chatting to some passenger that he met during the flight. No sooner, Jin found himself following Jon outside.

"Taxi!"

Taxi? Oh, yeah. Taxi. Jin watches as Jon held out a hand to an on-coming taxi. The driver pulls over, and helps his customer put the luggage inside the trunk. "Where to, sir?" Jon told him the destination and off they went.

Jin never rode in a vechile before, either. This is yet, another interesting experience. Although he couldn't be seen, touched, and or be heard, Jin did not feel worried at all. He sat next to Jon, smiling to himself. Jin plans to terminate Jon's life and take over his personality. That way, he will be able to communicate with Ling.

"So, you're from Japan?" asks the driver. "Yes. My Chinese language is quite poor, though. Not very exemplary at this point." Jon replies, speaking slowly. "Oh, well, it sounds good so far, kid."
"In your tongue, it's xiexie, correct?"
The driver chuckles briefly and says, "yes, and you're welcome."
Jin rolled his eyes. Stupid boy.

"I hope you'll have a great time here. Hong Kong is a very friendly place to visit."
"I'm sure it is. Thank you."

Forty minutes passed by the time they reached his apartment building. Jin looks out the window, with his dark sharp and pointy bangs hanging over his beautiful dark eyes. The building was nicer than he thought it would be.

White structures, fancy windows, pretty flowers surrounding the bush areas. Not bad, he says to himself.
After paying the driver, Jon let himself in the apartment. Obviously his family is rich because no one else is sharing with him.

His room is all the way on top. One bedroom, one washroom, a living room, and a small kitchen. Not bad. He says again. Jon drops the luggage and collapses onto a sofa, sighing, feeling happy his journey has ended.

Now, it's time for you to die.
Chapter 10:

After supper, Ling excused herself and went to her room to finish up her homework. Jian, on the other hand, sat alone once again. He leans forward, hands covering his sorrowful face, and had today's memories down at the police station came flooding back in his mind.

"I am detective Lei Wulong. Would you like any coffee? Tea before we start?" Jian shook his head, no. "Thank you, but no."
"All right. I know, this must be difficult for you, but I'll assure we'll find his murderer.that is, if he was."
"That's fine."

At the interrogation room, Jian sat across from Lei. Two officers stood nearby, standing still, looking like mannequins. "Last night, on October 18th, half hour before 8:00pm, you left in a hurry because your daughter had a recital at school."
"Correct. I promised that I would attend this performance. I failed to come on time."
"Sorry to hear that. Do you know anybody that might had the desire to take away his life?" Lei asked, sipping a drink. "No. But I do know he had some enemies, but they didn't have the heart to kill him."
"Funny how the world works. You'd be amazed." Says Lei.
"Have you discovered what was the cause of his unfortunate death?"

AT THE AUTOPSY ROOM:

"Chris Okura died from massive hemoglobin loss, there's two puncture wounds at the side of his trachea, and his proboscis has been dislocated. My hypothesis is the loss of blood caused his dissolution. Shame."

BACK AT THE INTERROGATION ROOM:

"Chris is also an archaeologist, right?"
"Yes. Chris and I are colleagues, or were. I can't imagine who would have the guts to kill him. I'm sorry, but this is the information I can give you." Says Jian. "It's all right. We are still investigating as we speak."
"What was that thing in the lab room?" Lei asked, suddenly changing the subject, again sipping on a cup. "What? Oh, the tomb. Chris recently discovered a tomb back in Osaka, Japan. Just few days ago."
"I assumed that's what it is."
"We haven't figured it out, yet. I will continue to study the skeleton."
"What skeleton?"
"The skeleton inside the tomb"
Jian saw Lei giving him a suspicious look.
"Oh, noooooo" whispers Jian.
"Is there something you're not telling me?" Lei asked. "This might be hard to explain, but there's a skeleton inside that tomb. It was wearing a ruby around its neck. Chris won't need it anymore, I know it's a cruel thing to say, but my daughter was very upset at me for not showing up at the recital. My daughter enjoys collecting ancient items. She got it from me. And this ruby is beautiful."

"What does this have to do with the skeleton?" Lei demanded. "Do you believe in mythologies?" Jian asked. "Uh, no. But what's the point?"
"Chris told me before he died that the ruby was attached to the bones, and couldn't be removed. When he had the tomb transferred over here, the ruby fell onto my hands. When Chris held the jewel, he claims the ruby burned his palms. It doesn't make any sense. But I didn't feel any pain."

"Hmmm. I would like to see this ruby of yours. Bring it here tomorrow morning, okay?"
"But, my daughter"
"Mr. Xiaoyu, this is a murder investigation. Please don't make this any harder than it is."
"I'm sorry. I will have it here tomorrow morning."
"Thank you. So, you believe this skeleton woke itself up after having its ruby removed?"
"I don't know what to think. I'm sure you're mistaken! There is a skeleton inside that tomb!"
"No, there isn't. It's empty."
